I have enrolled in the 'Project'
subject for Semester 2 and read and made notes on the following chapters:
·
H DIP CMP Project_Guidelines_Handbook
· RSA Briefs for 2016/2017
· COMP08004 201200
· Reports including research report
examples from previous student projects
At this stage I have read the
requirements both for originality, creativity, technical requirements and time
available to work on this project. I have worked on brainstorming of many ideas
as per RSA Brief and HDIP CMP guidelines.
These range in scope of creating an
app for healthcare (brief number 2: The Good Life) to creating an app for
educational purposes (brief number 11: Learning for Life). These could take the
form of an ‘interactive book’ or ‘interactive website.’
I have linked in with the listed
‘Resources’ section on the RSA Design Brief website where I have looked at the
many tools available. What I have found is that they are mostly orientated
around ‘Human-Cantered-Design.’
The ‘IDEO Design Kit’ has this
feature and is composed of three primary phases:
1. Inspiration
2. Ideation
3. Implementation
There is a ‘Field Guide to Human Centered Design,’ which is an
excellent site for the three above stages to get the design process moving
along in a timely way which is also good for the project management. I
have used this toolkit extensively in the last week to map out my project ideas
and filter the good and the bad ones from the plan.
